BALLROOM EXTRAVAGANZA

Last Friday, instead of the usual BarFly, we were at Rum Jungle. It was a cool place – looking like a jungle; animal printed sofa sets, DJs and patrons alike behaving like monkeys, menu of jungle cocktails - hyena’s saliva, test tube monkeys.. etc, just to name a few.

It was a night of ballroom dancers extravaganza. They were friends of CK’s. We have to acknowledge that CK is the man about town. Hats off to this man.

There and then, I got to meet some of his ballroom dancing friends – CK doesn’t dance. He has two left feet – he can’t even properly do the body jam moves in gym. But this doesn’t deter him to have friends who danced perfectly.

CK’s friend, Ms Lactose is a carefree spirited woman with infectious laughter (She is lactose-intolerant). She was the sexiest woman that night, the woman with the moves.,, and plenty of mojos. She did salsa, cha-cha, ballroom dancing, latin, twists… thanks to the relevant dance songs played throughout the night.

Instead of the anticipated 6 dancing friends, the entire troupe decided to show up. There were about 20 of us. It was unbelievable to be able to fit 20 people on a small balcony which hardly have space for you to move. Anyhow, we had a hilarious time.

There were some striptease act on the highest balcony, twists, rock and roll, cha-cha,.. these people were crazy and they just couldn’t stop their bodies from moving to the rhythm, it was as though their bodies were being possessed by the dancing spirits. They danced for 5 straight hours!

Being a non dancer, I plonked myself comfortably on the animal printed sofa.. but was almost crushed to death by CK and Bee Stung Lips - at the pretext of playing sandwich. They were the slices of bread, and I was the ham. So.. this is how a threesome feels like.. hhmmm....

I still do not understand why I club - second hand smoker, alcohol, late nights, erratic sleeping patterns – comatose effect the entire day after that, getting rubbed and fondled all over (hmmm…), worrying about being stopped by police for a blowjob (breath analyzer for drunk driving), burning a hole in the pocket etc.

But that Friday night was different. I guess it is the company that counts.
