IKAN BILIS STOCK

Ermm.. no.. I am not writing about a recipe, considering I can't cook.. I am talking about the stock market.

When I googled for a suitable pic to illustrate the stock market, this is what I've got. It best described the sentiment that I am in now.

In my previous company, everyone trades shares, (still!) including the tea lady and the cleaner. No joke. Everyday, 50% of our time is spent on speculating shares, the remaining 45% - meals, toilet breaks, sending junk mails, chit chatting on the phone.. and 5% - work. This is how productive we are.

I am very frustrated to have invested some fortune on certain counters a year ago and yet to reap anything out of it.

The moral of the story is.. don’t even THINK about buying shares on speculation. It will never work. We can’t be like the institutional investors who could afford to play based on speculation. If you want to make a quick buck, better go buy 4D and pray hard… or join a multi level marketing scheme.

Or invest some of your money on unit trust, based on a medium to long term duration. At least, by contributing constantly to unit trusts, based on dollar cost averaging, would help in the long run to counter the effects of inflation. This is better way to make money compare to putting all your money in the bank as fixed deposit for 5 years and let the value of your money eroded by inflation. The key word here is "long term". Hence, only do this if you have extra money to spare.

i called our remisier. he said, can hold on a bit longer. he said actually can sell now since we bought at 90 sen. but my average is RM91.2575. so i better make it worth lah.

i asked him if can hit RM1.10, he said he doesn’t know. but he said, hold on for awhile... probably next week i will sell.

he said, if the price keep on increasing before the capital repayment, when capital repayment happens, the price will decrease to balance out the price increase. So i think i am going to sell it soon.
